Mourning Clothes

This is wore today to collect and bury one of my cats. It wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be but it wasn’t exactly present. I can imagine the face she would have given me as dressed up as this; she would always give me a “Oh, god. You’re such an embarrassment.” expression with her ears folded back and I would just ruffle her fur and give her a cuddle. She was the most eloquent cat I’d ever known. Personally, I love my cats more than most humans but the stages of loss always hit me pretty hard and fast in the first twenty-four hours and then I recover dramatically.

Outfit:

Shirt: Supanova.
Skirt: EBay/H&M.
Stockings: EBay.
Boots: Dr. Martens.
Necklace: Second-hand.
Cardigan: Socks and Jocks.
Earrings: Self-made; They’re just simple hooks with safety-pins on them.

Today I toned down my eye-make up but upped my lips. I still very much love this colour! I also rag-curled my hair last night. I took a bit more time to section my hair off into small sections and it turned out great. It’s going on nine hours and the curls have only dropped slightly – without hairspray.

Lastly, here are just a few of the pictures I found on my computer of her. ❤

Best wishes,

300 Hundred Followers!

Coen and I had cupcakes yesterday. Mines the pink one and his is the abused one.

Holy-shit guys! Sometime in the last ten hours I reached three hundred followers! It’s pretty awesome but I still think I have a long way to go and a lot of improvement in my blog. Just to let you know I really adore all my followers, you guys are awesome and so friendly. Some of the comments, though I may not reply, give me the biggest smiles. :3

Do you guys have any ideas for how to celebrate?

Best wishes,

11 Things About Me: (Things you don’t already know)

  1.  My favourite colour is burgundy. Which happens to also be my favourite lipstick colour.
  2. My boyfriend and I tend to be very violent towards each other in a playful way. Once we were wrestling on the ground (great image, huh?) and I was holding his arms back behind his back and he literally punched the nose-ring out of my face. It was so awesome.
  3. I really dislike watching wrestling on television but when faced with a live (fake) wrestling match like RAW I can’t look away. Don’t even try talking to me!
  4. I’m applying for early entry into Wollongong university in a few weeks.
  5. My favourite meal is potato-bake. It has my two favourite foods in it: potatoes and cheese!
  6. I just can’t get over how versatile potatoes are in cooking! I’m always finding new ways to cook them!
  7. If you mess up my nails while I’m painting them I have been known to scream at people, literally flip tables and get violent. Don’t get between me and my nails. Or make up at that. Or clothes. Etc.
  8. When something is really funny I laugh like a high pitched hyena.
  9. Recently I dropped my programming course due to pure lack of motivation. I was weeks ahead and sat down to start the final assessment. Suddenly I just didn’t feel like doing it. I was like: “I don’t want to do this. I’m dropping it.” So I did.

Not to rant BUT. When dropping the course a certain teacher made me feel terrible because apparently my maths grades weren’t up to scratch which I thought was ridiculous because on the first exam of this term I received a hundred percent. A week later I received my most recent exam and had gotten 68/70. Thank you, un-named teacher for making me so upset that I wrote very sad poetry about the situation; THANK YOU.
    /ENDRANT

  10. My favourite pair of sun-glasses are black heart-shaped glasses. Unfortunately they don’t go with anything I wear, ever.
  11. I haven’t owned a phone in a year or two. I’m probably going to have to get one when I move out though.

The Questions I was asked:

  1.  If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? I’ve always wanted to go to the town in which The Blair Witch Project was filmed and go on a camping tour of the same forest. Did you know that apparently the actors were literally lost in the forest with no food for days while filming?
  2. What’s your favourite drink, alcoholic or not? Hands down, it would be a Voltage from Gloria Jeans – I’m not sure if it’s only any Australia based company though. It’s not alcoholic (I hardly drink) but it is heavily caffeinated. It’s referred to as “extreme coffee” and the description (along with picture) can be found here. I always have mine with cream on top even though I hate cream usually.

“Voltage is an intense drink that delivers an authentic coffee ‘jolt’. A blend of milk, ice, vanilla powder, espresso beans and espresso. Hot espresso shots, the final ingredient, are poured onto the cold, blended mixture creating a dramatic visual display.”

  3. Do you have any pets? Yes, I have four cats and a dog. Two female cats: Kitty and Spooky. Two male cats: Mortimer (Mort for short) and Isaac. Finally our female dogs name is Argonaut (Argo for short).
  4. Favourite colour? As mentioned above it’s burgundy. :3
  5. Favourite Gothy movie? Oh gosh. I have so many. I just spout off the first few that come to mind: Doom Generation, Harold and Maude, Gypsy 83 (Cliff Omnomnom) and at the moment I’ve been really in love with Ghost World.
  6. Favourite Flower? I don’t really have a favourite flower I love most flowers. The only flower that jumps out to me are Ghost flowers (I think there was a film based around the myth of a ghost flower) or Columbine flowers. And roses. BLUE ROSES.
I wish someone would give me flowers. -sadface-
  7. What is your personal/favourite style e.g. Rockabilly, Cyber, Romantic, etc.? Oh gosh, another hard question. A mix of Deathrock and Trad? But Traditional Goth mostly.
  8. Do you collect anything? Yes. Tickets and teddy bears.
  9. Do you like sports? I don’t dislike sports. Back in the day I actually used to be pretty awesome at Hocky – which later showed a lot in high school. I think it kind of ran in the family as my day and other members of my family had hockey trophies. I also was really good at Long Lunch and won a few ribbons in that. But once I hit high school and sport changed entirely I’ve started to hate it. Forced PE, always being picked last and team-mates that hated you and thought you were a burden were terrible. Not to mention I actually really liked sports to begin with but was just too shy. So, yeah. Short answer: High school has made me hate sport and all PE teachers with a burning passion.
  10. Do you have any tattoos or piercings? I have my ears pierced, my lip and my nose. I reallly really (and can’t wait, but I’m waiting to get rid of this infection) to get my cartilage and right ear fully pierced. I don’t have any tattoos but do want some in the future. Though I might not considering I’m more of a piercing adrenaline junkie rather than a sit in a chair and take long term pain junkie.
  11. What is your current hair colour? Black with more black.

 Questions to answer:

  1. What is your favourite band?
  2. What is your favourite style of music?
  3. What’s your favourite colour of lipstick?
  4. Do you prefer to bake or fry?
  5. Do you use make up remover, why/whynot?
  6. Write your favourite lyric. (Not exactly a question)
  7. Are you a lace or a fishnet person?
  8. What are your thoughts on men wearing make up?
  9.  Deathhawk or long hair. Which do you prefer?
  10. Do you ever dress in clothing of a differing sex or androgynously?
  11. What shade foundation do you use? Or if you don’t wear foundation at all.

I’m cheating. If you haven’t been tagged and would like to do this challenge feel free to do so. Don’t forget to link it in the description, I would love to give it a look!

P.S. I’m officially on holiday! Though it doesn’t seem like it since I’ll spend it all studying and doing errands.

Poll of the Week: Goth’s in the Mainstream

Link

We all know of Abby Sciuto from the well known NCIS, and the Goth Kids from South Park. As far as I know most just write them off as a funny cliche’. What do you think?

Television Goth’s are:

  • Funny/entertainning.
  • Just another character/no response.
  • Ignorant/regressive.

Don’t forget to post in the comments some of your favorite characters or even characters you hate with a passion!

EBay and Supanova Haul: Featuring my First Piece of Lolita Brand

As of a week or so ago I’ve halted most spending on things that aren’t school related or important. I’m seriously budgeting for moving into my own place and I’m so excited! I don’t mention this much but I do online surveys for money and yes, if you search for reputable surveyors and are smart (and a little tricky) about it you can make a small amount from it. Of course the most I’ve made in a month maximum was twenty dollars but I generally just spend it on cheap jewellery and small pieces on eBay.

Also, there wont be any pictures of Supanova as my friends really wanted me to bring my camcorder instead of my regular camera and I forgot to switch the SD cards. So I brought a camera with no memory. I really wanted to make a little video of it but oh well.

First the EBay items:

Bird Skull Earrings.

I’ve seen the bird-skull thing all over the online lately. It’s probably one of those “put a cog on it”-like things. It’s kind of funny to see trends in alternative culture, like those skeleton hand clips and the Retrostyle Store that I’ve heard so many bad things about.

These earrings are actually kind of huge and stretch my ears a bit. They came slightly broken but I make jewellery anyway so it was easily fixed.

Coffin Necklace.

The door is kind of flimsy, though it was like a dollar, but the magnet holds it on firmly. My boy friend and I have a little joke that this is the perfect necklace for carrying around drug’s in. I want to test to see if it’s sturdy enough to hold something in the near future.

Bat earrings.

The above coffin necklace and these bat earrings were bought for my Gothic Lolita outfit at the last minute, but arrived just in time. That’s why they’re both bronze and actually match perfectly. They’re really small and cute! A lot cuter than I expected.

Bone Hair Clip

If my memory serves me right these were quite popular a few years ago. I’ve always wanted a big bone to put on my head! This was on the more expensive side of eBay and was bigger than I expected. I want a GIANT bone for my hair though.

Now, the Supanova items:

I bought this little headbow pretty darn cheap. It’s good enough quality and it has the perfect shape I was looking for that sits across your head rather than sticks up and looks awkward. It’s a lot better for people like me that have very flat hair.

The Cure shirt.

I was so happy when I noticed a t-shirt store selling a bunch of Cure skirts. This version of the Boys Don’t Cry album cover is my favourite. Unfortunately they only had one-size girl-cuts and Boys-cuts were all out of this shirt. I would have preferred the boy’s because the girl-cuts always very tight. I prefer my band shirts to be a little baggy.

On the note of band-shirts.  I noticed a Bauhaus shirt, just one, at the very roof of a store and had to ask about it. The sellers didn’t even know what the band was called, though it was a really big metal store. I didn’t end up buying it. Apparently a men’s plain black shirt with ONE tiny logo on it costs sixty dollars. I could get the same shirt (probably better quality) on eBay for ten dollars right here. I don’t like Bauhaus that much.
/END RANT.

I fell in love with this skirt. I thought it was a little crazy that the entire store was labelled as size eight (Australian) though. I’m a size nine so it wasn’t hard to fit. It’s very tiny, definitely a mini-skirt that I’ve save for wearing with opaque stockings/boy-shorts or as a club skirt. The lace is a bit iffy though but the pockets are real!

I haunted the main Lolita store there. I couldn’t understand why their dresses were so expensive though which I feel silly about. I went back to this store possibly four times because  I noticed the gorgeous shape of one of the parasols hanging from the store roof. To my shock it was only forty-three dollars and my boy friend wanted to buy me a present so we shared the cost.

Later, when I opened it and saw the logo I freaked out because I had had no idea that I had just bought my first piece of brand. It’s needless to say that I coveted it for the rest of the day and train-ride home.

DeathRock Maquillage Practice

Okay, I’m usually one to strongly dislike excuses and think them unnecessary but I suppose sometimes they are the truth. I know I haven’t posted in a week or two and that is because of being sick, exams/assessment and emotional and health problems. After Supanova I attempted to continue my usual schedule of waking up at eight every morning. It was fine until school on Monday when I woke up and my head would not stop spinning. I walked into thinks as I went about my morning hoping it would wear off but eventually I had to admit to myself that I needed to sleep.

Please skip this section unless you wish to read me rant on about my own emotional problems.

Every-night for the past few weeks I’ve spent wallowing around in my own misery. There comes a point in the year when I just CAN’T take interacting with people any-more. As I’m an over thinker I think over and over every single little thing that I say or do in relation to other people and how they may have perceived me (yes I can be that insecure. I’m far from perfect!). This continues to the point of terrible emotional breakdowns, and literally me screaming at my own brain to just BE QUIET. It’s extremely frustrating.

…Enough personal talk. It’s rather extremely awkward for me.

I have no idea what inspired this but I have been obsessed with Deathrock fashion for sometime now. I think it’s the least likely fashion to fit my body-type and generally highly feminine everything (not that deathrockers can’t be feminine.)

Well, I’m sick of attempting to explain this obvious thing. English assessments have forced me to now be defunct at explanations.

I love making this grrrrrr-face! :3

Bonus picture of me attempting to style my awesome new bone clip. This post is filled with amateur everything!

I’m aware this is overly saturated and it was in no way intentional.

Best wishes,
-Sary

Death Notification and Update

Hey guys, I know I haven’t been around much lately. I’ve been trying very hard to get through the last few weeks and exams of this term. It seems never-ending. I’m just posting this to let you all know I haven’t died (in the case of that I’ve honestly employed a friend to let people know) and that I have created an About The Walrus page which you can promptly find at the top of this page. I hope you enjoy and don’t get offended, I mean no harm.

I’ll be back very soon!

Lolita Hair Style #1

This hairstyle is a mixture of curled extensions, lots of pins and a bow. It’s rather messy and I’m not looking my most tactful but  I was wearing a hoodie due to the cold, while playing with my hair and had to take it off so the contrast would let you see the outline of my hair.

Some of these pictures are terrible because of the lighting in my bathroom and I look as if I’m melding into the background. No, I don’t photoshop my photos unless otherwise stated apart from the border and tag.

Haha! I’m melding into the background.

I don’t actually have any of my own hair curled in this photo, it’s just the hair extensions. On the day of Supanova I will hopefully have all of my own hair curled and be a bit neater.

What do you think? I may resort to just playing it in a high ponytail with lots of curls and also have to play with the arrangement of the hair extensions.

Best wishes,
-SaryWalrus
