Outfit Post: Voodoo & Winklepickers

I’m not quite sure how long I’ve been complaining/whining/wishing for winklepickers but that time is officially over! It’s been a while since I’ve bought a pair of shoes that I want to wear at all times and I thought they look in place with this semi-Voodoo inspired look; bones and feathers are a bit Voodoo-esque, right?

Front door pictures!

Outfit: Top: EBay | Dress: Missguided | Belt: Boohoo.com | Boots: Free People | Necklace: Etsy (Sold Out) | Earrings: Anon

These boots were half-price at just the right time. While, alas, I couldn’t afford the face melting price of four-hundred dollars for my coveted Freebird by Steven boots I’ve been drooling over since I stumbled upon them, I found these on sale. The perfect object to feed my boot rejection. The buckles especially are the key to my heart.

This little crop top has been a five dollar blessing. I’d been looking for a simple black crop top for ages but couldn’t justify fifteen to twenty dollars on one. It may be far too short to wear on it’s own and be able to lift my arms without my bra showing, but it’s rather sturdy and great for layering.

Have you guys found any EBay gems as of late? Do you think Western + Animal Bones + Feathers equal anything like Voodoo? Or is it Hoodoo!

ELF: Voodoo & Posh

Silly me, mentioning this review a few weeks back thinking it’d be up any time soon. It took me four different lighting settings to get the colours to show anything like they actually are; even so, I ended up throwing my head near-outside my window! But alas, it is finally here! You can find the lipsticks on the ELF website, here.

Posh

Colour: Reddy, berry shade.
Texture: This lipstick is a lot more moist than the Voodoo, which does mean it becomes a little more sheer. It’s very easy to get streaks because of this.
Tone: In tone, this lipsticks a bit of a savior. It’s definitely a cold. blue tone, but because it’s more natural in shade it doesn’t accentuate the red areas of my face too much. It might even look natural on colder tonned skin.
Lasting: It would last at least six hours without anything to drastic happening to the mouth. You would definitely have to fix it after eating.
Build: Sheer and not very buildable

Voodoo

I’m not going to lie, the name was a big factor in my decision to buy this one! For good reason, I suppose, since it’s my favourite lipstick and I wear it most days I leave the house.

Colour: Peachy, pinky-red
Texture: Definitely on the matte side. Accentuates dry lips a lot.
Tone: Very warm toned.
Lasting: Because it’s more matte it last pretty long. A twelve hour day at uni would be no problem with a few touch ups.
Build: More build-able than Posh but building does accentuate dryness even more.

Voodoo (Left) – Posh (Right)

Price wise each lipstick is only three dollars, so it’s great to experiment with more natural colours for those of you that love black lips. Plus, I bought mine on the five dollar express shipping sale. But you certainly get what you pay for: they don’t last an insane time, don’t stain well, have a very limited colour range and the packaging is feels like it would break very easily. To add to that while ELF is cruelty free I’m almost completely sure they aren’t vegan. All together, I’m rather happy!

What lipstick brands are your favourite? Any you think I should to try out?

Outfit Post: Real Albino Spiders in my Hair & Voodoo

Shirt: Christmas gift (from last year) | Dress: ROMWE | Socks: Cotton On | Shoes: Target

In resent times my life has been a bit difficult as of late. We’ve had to bury two kittens and the last two are being heavily watched until they’re taken to the vet tomorrow before we eventually take them to the pound or try to give them away. I never like to get attached to kittens because I’m very protecting and persuasive. I would probably choose to take another kitten into my life over spending money on myself for the next six months. It’s just that the emotional investment overwhelms me.

On the note of animals, do you know what kind of animals I don’t like to be near? Spiders!

If you look close enough to the first picture you might be able to make out a white dot in my hair and another on my shoulder. Those aren’t dandruff, guys, those are tiny spiders. I was trying to take polite outfit pictures in a weird space because I didn’t want to people in my regular space to feel awkward having a camera pointed at them. While resting my head against the wall of my house to view the camera, I later found, that I had been resting my head on a nest of a hundred tiny albino spiders and their not so tiny mother. It’s safe to say I freaked the frick out and said screw it to the neighbors.

The last picture emphasises the fact that it then started to rain and thunder. Just my luck. I feel like these two events could just be one big metaphor for my life lately; a hilarious metaphor none the less. “My life is a herd of tiny albino spiders that find their way into my hair just as it starts to rain.”

On the positive side the lip colour I’m wearing is Voodoo by ELF. I recently bought it, along with another called Posh and I’m in love. In actuality it’s a lot more peach toned, but hopefully that’ll show up in the review I’ll be putting up soon!

In the meantime, if you could describe your recent life in one big silly (or not so silly) metaphor what would you choose?

Get To Know Me: My Computer Desk.

My computer desk is the place that I sit and use the computer daily. When I wake up in the morning I turn on my computer and do my make up at the mirror besides my screen. When I come home from school I sit in front of my computer and do my homework. One of the only things I don’t do by my computer is eat, because I don’t allow food in my room. If you want to get to know me, looking at the things on my computer desk are a great start!

My Desk.

Some of the things that I constantly have on my desk are:

  • Lip Therapy Vaseline.
  • Halloween Hand Sanitiser.
  • Piercing after-care spray.
  • Bottles of water.
  • A coffee.
  • Sun screen.
  • Eye liner. (Pencil and pen)
  • Mascara
  • Lipstick.
  • Eye shadow, all the hues of black to white.
  • Cotton Tips
  • A mirror.
  • Some of my collection of tickets.
  • My lamp.
  • My migrain medicine.
  • Nail polish remover.
  • Moisturiser.
  • Acne cream.
  • A roll of toilet paper.
  • Scotch tape
  • Make up brushes.
  • Hair clips.
  • Saftey pins.
  • Pencils and pens.

Things that tend to end up hovering around my computer desk are:

  • Foundation/powders.
  • Jewellery pieces.
  • Bolts.
  • Assortment of cards.
  • My Camera.
  • Nail Polish.
  • Lots of cups.
  • Little figurines. (At the moment I have pokemon)
  • Hair dye
  • Take out coffee muffs.
  • Earings/necklaces/broaches/etc.

Well, I wonder what that says about me. Probably that I’m rather messy and like my coffee. Also, my mum picked me up two more of these little voodoo dolls. I think they’re adorable!

Best Wishes,
-Sary

Picture Update!

This is a little voodoo doll key chain that my mum bought me when she heard me getting excited about Halloween. I don’t have any keys so I keep him on my lamp above my mirror.

This are some of the strawberries I’ve been living off all holidays and first week of school. My family are on a diet (not me, of course) so there is no shortage of them.

I’ve always wanted a pink lipstick and finally I have one! Considering it’s price
I think it’s rather good.

These are some vampire suck lolly-pops. I’ve been living off as well.

This is a bear that my Grandfather brought me back from The Tower of London that he traveled to recently.  I collect bears so it was really nice. :3

From left to right – L (From Death Note), Plusle (Pokemon), Near (Death Note).

These are some action figures Sary gave me when she moved away and couldn’t take all of her toys and such. I added them to my collection!

Cheesy picture is cheesy.
I’m going to be trying out black hair briefly, but first I’ll have to get some red for my blonde. It’s action taken to grow out my blonde. :3 The last time I had black hair it didn’t suit me, so I thought before doing anything permanently that I’ll try it out slightly.
