Get Ready With Me! Featuring Kittens – YouTube Video

That is right guys! I have finally given you a reason to subscribe to my YouTube. I always feel bad when people subscribe and I, just, nothing happens. So, here is a Get Ready With Me video. I hope you enjoy.

I’ve included the embedded video below the read more jump, or you can watch it on YouTube here. Tell me bellow, would you like seeing more of these?

False Lashes and Illamasqua

Guys! I made a Facebook page for my blog! Be sure to check it out (and like it to talk to me!) at this link here, or up in my little link menu above my photo in the sidebar.

Just a little makeup spam. It’s so annoying for me to photograph makeup as what looks very heavy and dark in reality looks very plain on camera. Anyway! All you can really see bellow is my experimentation with fake lashes and the Illamasqua foundation I’ve been loving.

This look consists of:

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation in no. 02
Illamasqua Matt Primer
Vaseline
Random liquid liner.
Coastal Scent’s tony eyeshadow detailer and crease brush.
Sleek’s True Colour Lipstick in Liqueur
Coastal Scents black (lower lid and crease), taupe (outer corners and as light contour), pinky purple (on the inner corners and as blush), white (centre of lid).
Scandal Eye’s pencil eyeliner on lower lids.
Random lashes.

A full face of make up and horribly disheveled hair is officially my thing.

Are you a fan of false lashes or Illamasqua? What are your favourite products?

Outfit Post: Smokey Eyes, My Favourite Place and What Kind of Dog Collar Is This?

Today I look a ridiculously short trek down the street to one of my favourite places with the beloved to show you guys this new shawl/overthing in full action (in comparison to this post here), my new collar, and a little more alternative of an outfit with terrible hair. Why do you do this to me, hair!

Goth, alternative, outfit, fishnet, make up,
I also tried out a tonne of new make-up stuff that I recently acquired.

My hair just didn’t want to co-operate that day. It may or may not have been the recent trim. I could achieve perfect curls with my regular brushing technique but I don’t like perfect curls, I wanted nicely messy curls. And this is a little too “invisible person is holding a piece of my hair up”, don’t you think?

make up, goth, purple, black, smokey eye,
That’s not snot, it’s a scar from blowing my nose so much when I was sick.

I’m really confused as to the purpose of these random shiny, mirror things on my new collar. My mum has a weakness for sales, so she came home with two different collars not knowing what they were. I snatched them up as soon as I could. This one fits perfectly – too perfectly. Knowing the store she bought it from it’s probably a silly bit of decoration. But if you have any thoughts, I’d love to know?

Australian, landscape, outfit, Goth, stripes, trail,
Overthing: EBay, skirt: Cotton On, Singlet: Second-hand, Collar: Cotton On
fishnet shirt: EBay (originally stockings)Stockings: Anon, Boots: Doc Marten.

This is one of my favourite places in the world. As a child I would come here with my mum to feed the horses just down my street and go inside with my friends to have adventures with ‘sand-witches’ and picnics. The first time I stumbled down this trail with my best friend we looked out towards the sunset to find it partially covered by a large kangaroo on top of some small hills. Unfortunately this once farm turned to ruin and has long since just been a trail to get to the new estates they’re building on top of it. I’m really not a fan of suburbs in which all the houses look exactly the same, and all the trees are demolished and not replaced.

The Most Useful Make-up Product Ever

Vaseline is the most useful product I could ever have. You can do so much with it! There has never been a day where I didn’t wish I had it on me. Mostly because I perpetually tell myself, “Oh I won’t need that today!” and end up needing it. Right now, I’m going to tell you all the things Vaseline can do for you! (I read that in my head like an advertisement, but does Vaseline really need advertising)

Uses for Vaseline:

  • Apply to the lips in a traditional sense as a lip-gloss
  • Mix it with lip-safe eyeshadow to create any tinted lip-gloss/lipstick colour you want, depending of the amounts of each. Just heat in a spoon and mix.
  • Apply to the eyes (or face) after face washing. Leave on for half-an-hour then splash with water to remove make-up.
  • Gently pad onto the eyes (try as hard as you may to not let it get into your eyes as it could do some harm) before sleeping. The Vaseline will act as a mask that softens and tightens skin.
  • Helps avoid wind-burnt lips.
  • Soothes cuts, burns, etc.
  • Mix with eye-shadow and heat in a spoon to create a uniquely coloured cream blush.
  • Apply to dry spots of your face before foundation/concealer to even the skins surface.
  • Place around the hairline before dying the hair. It will help any hair dye that touches theses areas not to stain. It’s also helpful when bleaching hair to avoid or soothe bleach burns.
  • When I have a cold, inbetween sneezing and blowing my nose, I apply it to the outer rim of my nostrils. It helps to drastically stop the pain of wiping that thousandth tissue.

It’s funny that all of these came straight from things I’ve used it for! No Googling was used in this post. Though there is some controversy on whether Vaseline increases the affects of certain light-rays and if it should be used around the eyes at all. So, be sure to read up. You should always stay safe and intelligent with the products you use. Now, I’m going to go back to the torturous cycle of sick that is sneezing, sore throats and continuous and painful hiccups!

Outfit Post: Everyday Witchy Look with Halloween Makeup

When I say ‘witchy’ I don’t mean any disrespect to Pagans or other such religions. This look with the pointed shoes and laid back fabric just lends itself in my mind to that kind of imagery. This is something I’ve been wearing a lot as an everyday thing.

I am in love with this dress. It’s so easy to wear, especially on warm days when you don’t want tight fitting clothes smothering you. It’s pretty and the perfect length; Not too short but not too long. And it’s simple enough that I can just throw on a cardigan with it and look charming. I think my mother picked it up for three dollars at a second hand store she volunteers at.

Eagerly I tried out the orange from the pallet I bought recently. It’s so lovely and a lot more neutral than I thought. I think I’ll be able to use this in a lot more looks than I originally thought. It’s going to be great for Halloween.

Outfit:

Dress: Second-hand
Shoes: Cotton-on.
Cardigan: Thrifted.
Stockings: No, idea. I’ve literally just been throwing on what ever stockings I can find.

Update: Half-a-Deathhawk – Cats – Make-up Looks

You may not have noticed but my posts have been quite spread out lately and less personal (personal to me is probably a lot more refined than personal to others). So, I thought I would update you guys a bit.
Recently, I took my cat Spooky to the vet. She’s fine, just needed some vaccines and de-sexing. It was such a long day though and it really made me appreciate her more. So, here’s a little (very dark) picture of her with her new collar. It’s black was slightly crap diamante’s on it – but I think she looks adorable.
Funny story but when I was at the vet. Well, when I walked into the vets the person behind the counter looked at me and said, “And you’re Spooky’s owner? She’s black, isn’t she?” It was quite funny but a bit sad as well. Hehe.
For a long while I’ve been wanting to turn my undercut into half a hawk (which is apparently already dictionary named a halfhawk but I prefer Half-a-hawk). Yesterday I was playing around to see what it would be like and trying to get more information. I decided against doing it and then, well. I went and cut off the section almost immediately. It was quite a bit harder to shave it by myself but Coen helped in the parts that I can’t (the very edge of the centred bend, and behind my ear which I can never do. Even while I had just a square undercut.)
In all honesty, it doesn’t feel very different. It feels a lot better and softer as newly shaved hair tends to feel. I have a little less hair to play with. But if I had have taken a picture of the actually amount of hair I cut off it wasn’t very much at all. Behind my ear feels awesome with Coen’s help shaving it though.
A bit ago I ordered some eye-shadows, a magnetic palette and some brushes from coastal scents. They recently arrived and I’ve been having so much fun experimenting with them! Included in them is a bright orange that I’m especially excited to wear in October. There’s a review in the works after I’ve tried them out a bit more but for now here are some experiments.
Black outside corner, purple inside.
Read crease, black inner corner and liner.
black outer corner, red crease, purple inside of the lid and orange inner corner.
I hope you’re all having a happy whatever,
(Also, holyshit I’ve hit just over three hundred and fifty followers)

Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance Anti-crease Primer VS Spackle: Laura Geller’s Under Make-up Primer

Size comparison

Overall Opinion

Spackle:

I just first want to note I’m taking about the original formula. This product is very temperamental. If you put it on and wait too long before you apply make up it doesn’t work, if you put it on and don’t wait long enough for it to dry properly it wont work, if it’s a hot day it wont work. But if it’s a cold day and you apply at exactly the right time it works perfectly!

TFSI:

This product I was worried about at first since it looked tinted to a tan colour which doesn’t seem to affect it’s actual appearance on the skin. It works a lot better on the eye than in a swatch, probably because it’s specifically an eye primer while Spackle is a full face primer. Also, I found that TFSI dries almost immediately while the Spackle takes at least five minutes and you do really have to work it into the skin – but it can be almost too fast at times. Lastly, overall, blending is majestic with this primer! It’s like it just blends for me! It gives you so many more options.

Price

Spackle:

Retail price goes about $20, though I bought mine wholesale from eBay which only ended up at around fifteen or less including shipping. I check my products thoroughly from eBay in case they are a fake but as far as I know there aren’t Spackle fakes being produced.

Considering this is the largest size of the original I could find at 59ml, which I think they’ve stopped production of since they have a new formula.

TFSI:

Retail price is about $18 dollars, and again I bought this whole sale from eBay. I actually was convinced it was a fake as the picture was different but it seems they have many different appearances from what I’ve found around the internet. The seller messaged me and we worked it out. It seems fine so far though.

The price may seem equal to Spackle but I was really shocked to find that it was so tiny! I know, I should research products more before I buy them.On the Spackle container it states it’s 56 grams while the TFSI is 11grams. No offence to the people that have said “It’s water based so you don’t need much” but Spackle is a lot more water based! So much so, that it takes five minutes to dry!

Staying Power

Spackle:

To put it bluntly, it’s terrible. I’ve been using this primer for four months now and the number of times it’s surprised me has been literally twice. Once was recently when I returned home after having to walk an hours walk home from town in the crippling heat, attempting to keep up with my partner and wearing a cardigan. Have I explained to you how much I sweat! (Darn you father for making me inherit your excessive sweating!) Anyway, after having to break into my own house my make up was still perfectly intact.

TFSI:

This is so much better than Spackle. When I get home from an eight hour day in the Eastern Australian humidity my make up is still as if I haven’t touched it. I’ve heard so many good things about this product but this was so much better than I had though. The staying power for sparkly eye-shadows is just as good as matte shadows. It’s perfect in so many ways!

Brightness affect

Spackle

Brightness isn’t too bad with this product, surprisingly. It’s probably about equal with TFSI.

TFSI

The brightness wasn’t extraordinary but then again I don’t use the best quality eye-shadow. I’ve been trying to convince myself into buying some more make up online but so far my logic is winning. It’d be interesting to try some Sugarpill on it though as apparently it’s really good.

Feel

Spackle

Spackle felt fine in my opinion. Though it did have a tendency to make my eyes water afterwards. And you wouldn’t want to accidentally get that stuff in your eyes because it’s BAD.

TFSI

This stuff makes your eyelids so dry! I’ve heard how good it is for oily skinned people and I can completely vouch for that but I have combination skin – meaning that my eyelids are already dry. Most of the time I’ve found it to be no problem but its exactly the opposite of Spackle in that while Spackle takes five minutes to dry, this can dry before you even finish applying. Not while you’re applying it but if you happen to drop something, reach down to pick it up it’ll be completely dry.

Recomendation

Overall I recommend TFSI, though if you have super dry skin I might not. I was forever prefer it to Spackle because it actually does it’s job perfectly but then again I haven’t tried Spackle as an under foundation primer.

I know what you’re thinking, “Holy-shit! An actual content post!” I had some free time today after finishing an exam, only three more to go! :3
Best wishes,

My Goth Maintenance.

Link

This is just a list of things I do to maintain my dark appearance. (I know, that sounds terribly, well, terrible but I couldn’t word it any other way). Obviously this list isn’t just “Goth” needs but general needs for those interesting in the same kinds of things.

  • One a month I re-dye my hair, mostly the roots. Around the same amount of time I cute and shave my hair. The more often I shave my undercut the easier it is because it doesn’t blend as well with the rest of my hair. (For more in-depth information just check this video here!)
  • Every few days I take the time out to clean my boots. Whether that’s between classes while being bored or before school, or such.
  • Removing my make up used to be very tedious for me. Some like just to get in the shower and scrub it off but that usually ends up with a big mess of black across, down and around my face and neck, sometimes hands. First I wash my face is wash water. I try to wipe the resulting black mess off a bit more with a dry face-washer. The left overs are removed with make up remover. Lastly I splash some water on my face to get the remover off completely and put some moisturiser over my eyes to help discomfort from all that darn rubbing.
  • I usually would go one week on and one off with nail painting as my nails are very temperamental and need re-charging time to regain oxygen and such. Though I don’t have the time lately. That tends to consist of cleaning my nails, cutting, filing, buffing, washing, moisturising and finally painting.
  • Three times I day I take the time out to make my salt water mixture (article here explains what I’m talking about) and soak my nose piercing for ten minutes while watching my daily dose of Youtube subs.

This is what I do to maintain my ooky-spooky-ness (I honestly can’t describe this very well!). How about you? Do you take five minutes every morning to rub sun screen on your tattoo’s? Or change your piercing/hair weekly? Let me know, I’d love, love, love to hear about it.

Manic Panic: Mystic Heather – Lipstick Review

For Christmas Kitty bought me the loveliest lipstick, along with a wonderful Manic Panic pressed powder. Finally, I’ve gotten around to review it! She remembered that I was on that search for a nice pink lipstick (I think!) and she most definitely succeeded. Manic Panic’s quality is always good, they’re always vegan and tend to cater for the more alternative.

(Right click and open pictures into another tab for a larger view.)

Quality:
As usual, great quality. The lipstick isn’t drying; actually it’s very moisturising. Nothing was broken the packaging was great and came with bundles of giant buble-wrap! The case is definitely Creature of the Night and so lovely!

Once applied.

Wear-ability:
This lipstick stains like hell! It lasted six hours on until it started to dry (without applying lip moisturiser before hand) and then it was only a slight touch up! The colour is VERY fluro. It was a lot brighter than the lipstick actually makes it out to be and it a lot more purple.

I also have to mention the picture below was taken after eating two meals!

Is this lipstick worth it?

I think so. Though I probably wont buy it again as it’s very fluorescent, I’m definitely going to finish this lipstick off!

Best wishes,
-SaryWalrus

After six hours. You can see my lip drying.

My Summer as a Goth Trial Bit

You guys! You haven’t forgotten about the My Summer as a Goth Kickstarter already, have you? Well, after raising more than the set amount they’ve finally got the preview trial scene ready! Am I the only one excited about this? It’s not the most perfect scene in film history but it certainly had me leaving for school yesterday with a huge smile. I just love Goth’s in films!

What are your thoughts on this little snippet?
